When we think of the perfect spring shoe, we think of something that can be paired as easily with a dress as it can with jeans, since the weather is often unpredictable. We’ll start you off with these versatile sneakers, comfortable sandals, office-appropriate ballet flats, and more, all of which cost under $125. These will be your new go-tos.
The casual sneakers that never go out of style…
Adidas has officially taken over our FYPs, starting with these Grand Court Lo sneakers. They’re sleek and trendy enough to wear with sundresses, but we also love throwing them on with a pair of loose-fitting jeans and a tee.
Flat, strappy sandals by a trusted brand…
It's no secret Crocs are big on comfort — and these strappy flat sandals are a perfect example. They have the look and style of a strappy, gladiator-type shoe, with the comfort and ease of a slip-on Croc. They’re a great alternative to the tried-and-true white sneaker we always default to.
A classic horsebit loafer…
These are made of soft Italian leather with classic horsebit hardware, and they’re under $80. Need we say more? They also have a padded insole so you won’t feel like you’re walking on the pavement. All four colors are extremely versatile, but we’re currently loving the Soft Brown and Coffee Bean colors for spring. ($79.90, Quince)
A kitten heel sandal for a little lift…
We’ve been seeing heeled thong sandals everywhere, and we still can’t get enough. These have a (very walkable) 2-inch heel that will dress up any casual look. Pro tip: Pack these when you’re traveling for a wedding or a formal occasion.
Water-repellent suede clogs …
No need to worry about spring showers when you’re wearing these suede shoes. They have a water-repellant finish and a sole that molds to your foot as you walk. You'll get a decent amount of wear out of these, since they’re appropriate for almost every season.
The platform sneaker we can’t get enough of…
Florals? For spring? Obviously. These sneakers have a cloud-like bouncy insole and provide a little height with a just-right platform. These are the kind of shoes you can walk for miles in without a whisper of a blister, all while feeling and looking put-together.
Comfortable Mary Janes by an underrated brand…
PSA: The fashion at Walmart is really, really good. These vintage-looking Mary Janes come in black and brown, both of which work well with any neutrals you have in your closet. Plus, they’re under $40. To take the look up a notch, we recommend adding a pair of chic crew socks.
A waterproof slide…
This is an EVA version of the classic Arizona Birkenstock. It’s the lighter, waterproof alternative that’s perfect for trips to the beach, lake, or pool. They’ll also be your go-to for quick errands, a coffee run, and post-workout class.
A pair of white sneakers we always go back to…
Is there anything better than a fresh pair of white Converse? There’s just something about these canvas classics that go with everything, no matter the weather or season. We think this Madison style has more cushioning than the original Chucks.
A retro-chic sneaker…
New Balances have officially graduated from "Dad shoe" to “cool-girl shoe.” Their retro vibe and unmatched comfort are just a few of the reasons we keep coming back to them. Pair them with work trousers or your favorite pair of shorts for a cool, effortless outfit.
A pair of vegan leather slip-ons…
Slip-ons are a great option because you can just throw them on and go. This pair is made of coconut, sugarcane, and palm that has the look of leather. They’re crispy white, stain-proof, water-resistant, and extra-cushioned.
A flip-flop made for walking…
They might look like a pair of sandals, but they have air-foam cushioning and extra padding in high-impact areas like the heel and ball of the foot. One editor even called them “a hug for your feet.” These are perfect for vacationing when you’re going from the beach to dinner in an instant (especially since they’re also waterproof).
Colorful sandals we keep in our tote at all times…
If you’re someone who likes high-impact looks with little to no effort, these are the slides for you. They’re as chic and trendy as other strappy heeled sandals, but have the comfort of a flip-flop or slide. We love these for transitioning an outfit from day to night.
A versatile Chelsea boot...
From the sturdy sole to the breathable lining, these are supportive and comfortable. You can pair them with jeans, dresses, or skirts. They also come in tan if you have enough black boots in your closet. Plus, they’re waterproof, so they’re great for days with unexpected showers.
A Mary Jane that’s not like other Mary Janes…
Blisters? Wouldn’t know them. Not when we have these gorgeous slingback flats in our repertoire. The straps are thin enough not to dig into the back of your heels while keeping the shoe in place. They come in five colors that will work well into the fall. See what else our editors had to say about a few other Naturalizer picks right here.
