On the chilliest days of the year, there’s nothing more uncomfortable than walking around with numb toes. That’s why we rounded up our favorite winter sneakers that are stylish, sturdy, and most importantly, so cozy. From durable high-tops to softer lined options that will retain warmth, it’s time to kick having cold feet to the curb.

Granted, these Brooks Adrenaline GTS sneakers are our favorites all year, but the grippy treads on the bottom can help keep you stable when the road is a little slick. They’re perfectly cushioned for gym sessions or long walks, and we love the selection of both neutral and splashy colors. Throw these on to run laps, run errands, or run home to binge-watch your feel-good shows. ($155, Brooks)

When it gets dark at 4:30 p.m., we look for brightness anywhere we can — including our choice of footwear. These cult-favorite Gola Tornado sneakers come in sunny colors like bubblegum pink and cobalt that’ll spark some joy in your wardrobe. They have a removable cushioned insole for unmatched comfort and support. They’re the ideal cute sneaker for errands or coffee runs. ($100+, Free People)

If you’re traveling to a walkable city, we recommend throwing a pair of these New Balance sneakers in your suitcase. They’re extremely lightweight, so they’re easy to tote around. Customers say they take almost zero time to break in, so they’re ready for the gym, the park, or a night out whenever you are. They also recommend sizing up a half-size for the right fit. ($104.99, L.L.Bean)

Hokas are another of our go-to sneakers for year-round, and even though they’re lightweight, our editors claim they still keep their feet warm enough for winter workouts. They have a breathable mesh upper and come in 11 color combinations. They even have reflective panels, which are perfect for days when it’s dark by the afternoon. These shoes? Definitely made for walking. ($155, Free People)

We can’t all afford to store our shoes in the oven à la Carrie Bradshaw, which is why we’re big fans of hybrid shoes to cut our collection in half. These are part sneaker, part snow boot, and 100% comfortable. They’re also waterproof, which makes them a great choice for trudging through the snow or sleet. ($190, Merrell)

Getting caught in the winter rain is the worst. With these wool lace-up shoes from Allbirds, you can rest assured that your feet will stay dry and warm. They’re water-repellent, have a no-slip natural rubber grip, and are lined in a dual-density insole for added comfort. Plus, they’re made of sustainable materials. ($150, Allbirds)

Your favorite pair of Chucks are ready for the cold. This fold-over pair has a faux-fur lining that will keep your toes from freezing, along with a durable suede upper and that classic rubber sole. Add a pair of comfy socks and you’re good to go. ($95, Converse)

These Uggs are essentially the outdoor-appropriate version of your favorite house shoes. They’re ultra warm and comfortable, with a cozy, upcycled wool-blend lining on the inside. We especially love that they’re slip-on, so they’re easy to put on and take off for running quick errands. ($150, Ugg)

We get it, sometimes black-on-black just makes sense for those dark, wintry days. But we can’t help but fall in love with these faux fur-lined Steve Madden platform sneakers. Their thick sole makes them a great choice for all-day walking, while the suede and leather material keeps them looking sleek and elevated. PS: They also have colorful versions sans lining if that’s more your speed. ($89.95, Zappos)

Don’t let your footwear stand in the way of a night out. These Spanish sneakers are our latest obsession, thanks to their chicer-than-usual design that wouldn’t look out of place at a dinner out. They come in 16 retro-inspired color combinations, but we think the silver and black leather options are the most elevated. ($120+, Free People)
